Teen Stabbed to Death in Japan’s Osaka
Emergency responders arrived at a commercial building on the first floor of Dotombori, a crowded shopping hub in central Osaka, after police received distress calls at approximately 11:55 p.m. local time, the Osaka police confirmed.
The teenage victim from Nara Prefecture suffered fatal chest wounds and multiple stab injuries, with paramedics declaring him dead at the location. Two additional 17-year-old males were rushed to medical facilities with stab-related trauma, authorities stated.
The alleged assailant—described as a male in his twenties—escaped the scene on foot and has evaded capture, the news agency reported. Law enforcement officials revealed the suspect was acquainted with all three victims, and an altercation erupted between the parties moments before the violent assault unfolded.
Investigators continue searching Japan's western region for the fugitive suspect as the downtown area, known for its numerous restaurants and nightlife venues, remains under heightened police surveillance.
